The Crew Grip Sock in Onyx Black#colour_onyx-black

The slip starts at the heel and the toes.

Most grip socks cover the arch, where the brand name usually sits, then stop short of the toes and the heel, right where you press into the footbar and push through the chair pedals. Bodynam runs a dense, tessellated silicone pattern across the entire footbed, heel to toe, and the heel grip rises up the back of the heel. We have tested ours through more than 80 studio sessions and counting, washed the right way: cold, inside out, air dried.

The Crew Grip Sock in Onyx Black#colour_onyx-black

Grip only works if the sock stays put.

A loose sock slides inside itself and takes your foot with it. Bodynam wears snug, not tight, with a compression band through the arch that holds the sock in place while your toes stay free.

Product details

Materials and care

50% combed cotton, 25% nylon, 20% polyester, 5% elastane. Made in China. Breathable and quick to dry. Wash cold, inside out, in a mesh bag. Air dry, skip the dryer. No bleach, no softener.

Size and fit

S fits US women's 6.5 to 8. M fits 8.5 to 10. The Ankle and The Crew share the same fit through the foot; only the rise changes. True to size, snug not tight.

The grip

A dense, tessellated silicone pattern runs the entire footbed, heel to toe, so there is no bare zone to slide on. The heel grip is elevated: it rises up the back of the heel rather than stopping under it, so footbar presses stay planted. The pattern is pressed into the knit rather than printed on top of it, so it resists peeling and flaking.

Strong Silicone Grip Cotton Socks

I’ve tried so many Pilates socks that keep wearing off the grippers at the bottom. I really like how thick the grippers are so they won’t be as easy to wear off. I love that these have 50% cotton in the blend not just an all-synthetic sock that suffocate my skin. They have full-sole grippers and provide extra traction at the heel, while the arch band is designed to keep the sock from shifting or bunching. The neutral color is super cute and goes well with every Pilates outfit!

Grip holds through lifts, yoga, and planks — no sliding at all

I use these for weightlifting first and foremost, and they do the one thing that matters: they grip. With regular socks my feet slide around, which is a real problem under load — if your feet shift mid-lift you lose your base, and that affects both your form and your confidence in the lift. These stay planted. On gym mats the grip holds completely and my feet stay exactly where I set them through a full set. They also carry over well to everything else I do. I stretch and run through yoga poses after lifting, and they hold there too — including planks, where your whole bodyweight is pushing forward through the balls of your feet. That’s the position where a lot of grip socks give out, and these don’t.They deliver exactly what they claim, across lifting, stretching, and yoga.

Great grip, snug fit

These brown grip socks work well. The rubber grip pattern on the sole feels secure, and the ribbed cotton-style fabric is soft. The chocolate brown color is also nice and goes with everything. They do fit a little tight, especially around the ankle and calf, so I'd consider sizing up if you're between sizes or like a looser sock. Still, they're comfortable enough to wear, and they do the job.

Comfortable with Great Non-Slip Grip

These socks are comfortable and have a nice fit. I really like the grips on the bottom because they help keep my feet from slipping during workouts. The material feels soft, and the arch support adds some extra comfort. They’re great for Pilates, yoga, or just wearing around the house.Overall, they’re comfortable, practical, and provide a good amount of grip.

Rubber grip is GREAT!

These Pilates Ankle Grip Socks are a great blend of comfort, stability, and versatility. The non-slip grips provide reassuring traction during Pilates, yoga, and barre sessions, while the arch support adds a secure, comfortably held-in feeling. I especially like that they allow natural movement without sacrificing stability. A practical choice for anyone who wants better footing and added confidence during studio workouts.

Bottom grips are perfect!

These are well-made, comfortable grip socks that are perfect for dance-style exercise classes like barre and Pilates. The color options are nice, and the fit is good. What really sets these apart from most grip socks on the market is that the silicone grips run the entire length of the sole, from toe to heel. Most grip socks only cover part of the bottom, but these truly wrap the whole foot, so no matter what move you make, you have traction. That full-sole coverage is the standout feature here!!I do have to call out the arch support claim. The listing says "a compression arch band and stretchy recovery fabric help keep the sock in place through every practice." In reality, what they are describing is just the sock fitting snugly and not slipping around, which is true and fine, but it is not arch support in any meaningful sense. I do not expect real arch support from a sock, and I doubt most people do, but I always dislike it when products make claims like this. Just say the sock stays in place, which it does.At $24 for a single pair, these are on the expensive side. I make a point of keeping them in my dance exercise bag and saving them for class rather than wearing them around the house, so they should last a good while. For what they are, the full-sole grip coverage alone makes them worth it for anyone doing barre, Pilates, or similar studio classes.

Perfect Contemporary Socks

These socks are great for dance. They are comfortable, stretchy, have great grip, and I love the care taken in the sewing of the hem so it doesn't get itchy or catch on tights. The whole range of neutral colors is wonderful for someone like me who wants to always be matching, and with the quality not changing from color to color, this brand just makes good socks. I think it's great quality for the cost, and I will be buying again if I need more!

A bit tight at the top

These are tight enough not to slip down, not so tight they cut off my circulation, but can leave a deep mark at the top. They were a little smaller than i anticipated. They still grip well even after several washes. I feel secure using these on my hardwood floors when I wear around the house too.

Finally a grip sock that actually GRIPS!!

I’ve tried quite a few grip socks over the years and these are easily some of the best I’ve worn. The first thing I noticed was just how much of the bottom of the sock is actually covered in grips. It’s not just a few little dots in certain areas. The grip extends across basically the entire foot and you can absolutely feel the difference.I primarily use them for Pilates and lagree classes. I feel so much more secure during movements where I’m pushing through my feet. I’m not sliding around or stopping to readjust my footing, which makes it much easier to focus on my form. They’re also surprisingly comfortable and breathable. They don’t feel bulky or overly thick, they stay in place really well, and I love the added arch support. They feel like they were actually designed for people who regularly do Pilates rather than just being a regular sock with some grips added to the bottom. They are a little more expensive than some of the other grip socks I own, but after using them I understand why. I’d rather have one pair that actually performs well than several cheaper pairs that I’m constantly slipping around in.Definitely worth it for me. I’ll be buying more colors!!

Great yoga socks!

I tried these on before washing and didnt like how loose they were on the toes but after washing I am happy to report they fit perfect now! They are snug on arches, but not uncomfortably so. The grip is very well done and running the full length of the bottom of the sock is perfect for yoga moves. They are certainly suitable for practicing flexibility. They are pretty thick so they are warm which may or may not be good when working up a sweat. They just look like standard socks when wearing. Great for around the house on hard floors as well. They are quite expensive for 1 pair of socks. I realize they are for specialized use, and they are very nice but the cost can be prohibitive.

Pricey but well made

These grip socks are comfortable and feel secure without being too tight. The silicone grips cover most of the bottom and provide good traction for Pilates, yoga, barre, or workouts at home. My wife likes the ankle height and added arch support, which make them feel more like a regular sock than some thinner studio styles. The neutral color is easy to match, and overall they’re a nice option for anyone who wants a little more stability during exercise. The price is a bit high and might be a little too much to stomach for some. Hard to say they’re “worth it” at the price point, but they are well made and very comfortable.

secure

These socks are well made and the non slip grip sole extends over the entire foot for safety and best control. I really enjoy the arch support and the breathable material. The socks work great for yoga.If I could make an improvement, I would prefer a hem that was a little softer around the ankles while affording the same security. They do cut in around the ankles and that doesn't look very attractive and begins to hurt a little after a while. The price is pretty silly. Not a good value.

These socks are IT!!!

The chair is probably my favorite thing to use in Pilates, but I’ve always had one complaint: my grip socks never felt quite grippy enough. Whether I was pushing the pedal down or doing hip thrusts, I’d feel my feet shift just enough that I was thinking about slipping instead of focusing completely on my form.I’ve worn Tavi and several of the typical studio grip socks for years, so I honestly thought that was just something you dealt with. Then I came across BODYNAM and decided to spend the few extra dollars to try them.SO worth it!!!The grip is noticeably better, especially during movements where I’m really pushing through my feet. I feel much more planted and secure, which lets me focus on my alignment and form instead of constantly readjusting my feet.Form is extremely important to me, and having a sock that actually stays put makes such a difference. If you use the chair, reformer, or do a lot of bridge/hip thrust work, I highly recommend these. These socks are IT!!!

Truly Superior Yoga Socks!

I bought these for my daughter who is Certified Yoga Instructor. She loves them! She says they are not too high on the ankle and the non-slip works great. She also mentioned the arch support does help while she's teaching. I highly recommend!

I really like them!!

I was a little unsure about the price and the lack of reviews, but I looked through the customer photos and noticed that the grips seemed to cover a lot more of the sock than most grip socks I’ve seen. I decided to give them a try and I’m really glad I did! I like them a lot. They feel good, stay in place, and the grip is really good for Pilates. Definitely worth it for me.

Finally, grip socks that actually stay put. No slipping on the reformer, and they're soft/airy enough that I forget I'm wearing them. Ordering more!!

Pilate Socks 10 out of 10

Obsessed with them, they are the perfect amount of compression but the grips are the game changer for me. During some of our technical moves in Pilates I feel more grounded! I’m NOT having to readjust my footing because my socks are slipping or constantly adjusting the socks themselves, which means I can stay focused and keep my flow without interruption.
